The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Whether this philosophy applies to the Indian Journal of Cancer too is for you, the reader, to decide. But we, on our part, will try to keep changing the kind of reading material in the journal and improve the quality of the journal, l so that it is useful as well as fun to read.

Beginning with this issue, we introduce two new columns: a newspage, which will help the oncologist keep up to date with events related to cancer, from around the world. Also, we have some MCQs (and the answers!) following one of the articles. We believe that this is a good way to test yourself and to increase your knowledge. Postgraduate students should find this particularly useful. You would, of course, have noted that the journal now carries commentaries, apart from editorials.

You will also see a couple of articles dealing with the humane aspect of medical practice, something that should be stressed on more often in our journals and in our teaching. We welcome more such reflective essays from physicians, nurses, patients and caregivers.

As ever, we look forward to readers' comments and advice on this and other columns. Feedback is essential to the continuing improvement of a journal.
